Stella Canfield's art is known for its deep emotional content, the dynamic of the brush stroke and vivacious colors.
She creates intuitively and spontaneously in a relaxed, natural way of expressing her individual emotional response to the subject or scene she paints. Her work is charged with the energy of her own life, her passion for people and nature.
The inspiration for Stella’s art comes from her appreciation of beauty and her positive view of the world. Stella prefers to introduce symbols, giving the viewers the opportunity to visualize the details. This way she strives to emotionally involve them as partners, to give them a feeling of the ownership of the painting. She believes that art is a way of spiritual communication.
About Stella and the tour
Stella was born in Varna, Bulgaria. She graduated from the Academy of Sports in Sofia with a Masters Degree in teaching. Stella dedicated the first thirty years of her life to sports and achieved considerable success as a national competitor in rowing. In 1980 she left her native country illegally to escape the oppressive regime of communism. After living and working for five years in Germany, she moved to the USA in 1985.
Today Stella teaches watercolor, juries and participates in exhibits initiated by art organizations in the USA, Europe and Asia. She has received many international awards for her work. Her paintings are in several private, corporate, and museum collections in America, Europe and Asia.
Stella is an official brand ambassador of DANIEL SMITH.

Feeling with all of your senses the magic of Nature will enchant you. From landscapes to flowers, to boats and water, street scenes and figures, Stella will be there for you all the time making sure you feel comfortable and having fun expressing yourself without pressure and intimidation.
Enjoy learning to see better, about composition, color, value and light in a very relaxing way.
The day will start with a fast demo and the rest of the day will be dedicated to YOU!
Everyone is creative and there is no limits to creativity!

Here is an example itinerary of how you can expect your 8 days to go (this schedule is always subject to change) :
DAY 1
Your arrival day.
An airport shuttle will be organized for your arrival.
Our group, if they have not arrived earlier, will arrive throughout the day.
We will all gather together at 7pm for a meet and greet dinner.
DAY 2-7
A buffet breakfast will be available daily, before travelling to different areas around southern Dalmatia. On the tour you will see vistas rich in vineyards, quiet coves, small beaches, flourishing olive tress and quaint architecture. This part of Croatia is unique in its beauty, encouraging one to take pleasure in painting and sketching.
Your painting tour includes scenic areas such as Mlini, Cavtat, Ljuta, Lokrum, Čilipi and at your leisure, Dubrovnik. Our day will begin at 8am with breakfast and then the day is set in motion by your instructor… each instructor will vary slightly but mornings and afternoons will be for painting, with a box lunch on location, in between.
At the end of the day we will return to the our hotel. You will have some time to yourself before the evening meal at 7pm and are encouraged after dinner to spend time exploring the area or enjoying wine with your fellow artists, relaxing before your next day of painting.
All box lunches are included + 4 dinners.
Day 8
Your departure day.
Breakfast will be available and an shuttle can be organized for you to the airport, at your cost.
